Since our humble beginnings in July 1976, M. Suleman Group Ltd has grown into one of the most successful wholesale enterprises across Scotland, England, and Ireland. Founded by the visionary Muhammad Suleman, a man whose remarkable journey from India to Pakistan and ultimately to the United Kingdom laid the foundation for our enduring family legacy, we have consistently provided high quality, great value goods that helped businesses to thrive.
MUHAMMAD SULEMAN (late)
Born in India in 1931, he moved to Pakistan in 1947 during the partition of Indiaand Pakistan. After settling in the Region of Faisalabad in Pakistan, he established a wholesale clothing business. He came to the UK in the 1960’s and set up a food retail outlet in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 1965 he returned to Pakistan for a short period of time, venturing into clothing manufacturing, before returning in 1972 with his family to set up home in the UK. Shortly after arriving, he set up a food retail business in Glasgow, Scotland with his son Imtiaz Suleman.
Imtiaz Suleman, CEO
In 1976, together with his sons Imtiaz and Riaz Suleman, he started a clothing wholesale cash and carry in Coburg Street, Gorbals. Since 1977, Imtiaz assumed the role of planning and implementing a business strategy to take the company forward. In 1978 due to expansion of the business the company moved to larger premises in Stromness Street, Tradeston , diversifying to include hardware and fancy goods. In 1985 with the further additions of DIY and gardening departments the company branched out to supply all over Scotland.
In the early 1980’s the family formed M Suleman (Property) Company and began to purchase the warehouses around Stromness Street, Kilbirnie Street, Kilbirnie Place and West Street. Over the years this has expanded to encompass three trading estates in the area comprising 25 large and medium sized units, some leased to other businesses, and some occupied by the group itself.
Riaz & Waqas Suleman
In 1999, Riaz Suleman, together with his son Waqas, launched The House of Suleman as an independent venture. initially focused on clothing and later expanding into custom jewelry, leather goods, and accessories, this initiative further enhanced our reputation for quality and innovation. In 2020, Riaz Suleman and his son gracefully retired, marking the close of one chapter as our legacy continued to evolve.
Kashif Suleman, Director
The dawn of the new millennium brought fresh energy and bold vision. In 2000, Kashif Suleman, the eldest son of Imtiaz Suleman joined the company as a buyer for fancy goods, hardware, DIY, and gardening. His contribution and hard work helped company to achieve big milestones. The following year Atif Suleman, the second son, took charge of the toys and electronic goods department. Their valuable contributions broadened our product range. In 2002, M Suleman Greeting Card Company was launched in the leadership of Atif Suleman.
Atif Suleman, Director
Renowned for its high-quality branded toys, seasonal greeting cards, partyware, novelty items, and an extensive range of stationery, this venture underscored our commitment to innovation. Meanwhile, Kashif continued to lead the hardware, DIY, and gardening departments under Imtiaz’s guidance.
In 2005, seizing global trade opportunities, we established MS Import and Export Ltd under the registered trademark KASCO International. Through journeys to the Far East, Kashif and Atif sourced premium-quality goods at competitive prices, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted name in excellence. In 2009, our business was restructured into a limited company, with Imtiaz as CEO and Kashif and Atif as directors.
Saqib Suleman
In 2010, Saqib Suleman, the youngest son of Imtiaz Suleman was appointed as a director after completing his degree in Business management. Due to his excellent skills in managing finance, he was handed over the task to manage financial operations and support all the departments. He plays a vital role in managing finances of Suleman Group.
In 2015, Saqib also introduced electronic cigarettes, e-liquid, smoking
In November 2018, our beloved founder, Muhammad Suleman, passed away and returned to his Creator, Allah (SWT). We earnestly pray that Allah (SWT) grants our late founder a place in Jannah Tul- Firdous, and his memory continues to inspire us daily. In 2020, Imtiaz Suleman retired, entrusting the torch to his three sons, who have upheld the company’s spirit of innovation and service.
More recently, in 2022, we expanded our product range by introducing latex balloons, further cementing our position as a leading wholesaler and one-stop distributor for event stylists nationwide. Today, as we serve clients with products sourced from the world’s finest manufacturers, our commitment to quality remains steadfast.
